[ENet-discuss] LAN vs Internet

ENet will work on anything that supports UDP. However, the only protocol
it currently supports is UDP, so YMMV.

However, what it is mostly tuned for is internet games. Experiences with
it on very fast local networks have been somewhat mixed.
