IRC dead?

As IRC channels go, #d is moderately active. If I ask for help, I usually 
get a response within a couple minutes, and if I'm just idling, I will 
see probably ten messages per hour on average.

#ubuntu, for comparison, is so outrageously active that you can log in 
and see a new message every few seconds. If that's your reference point, 
you'll consider #d pretty much dead in comparison.
